Quick thinking by a neighbor led to the arrest of two Waco burglars.
Waco police were called at around 12:15 p.m. to a reported burglary in the 2300 block of Baylor Avenue. The caller, a neighbor, told dispatchers he saw three men wearing hoodies break into the back door of a house and leave the property in a green mini-van.
Officers were able to spot and stop a vehicle that matched the description in the 1800 block of Primrose Drive. The suspected burglars ran from law enforcement, but two were caught shortly after the chase began. One person remains at large.
Michael J. Kelly, 26, and Mario Denorris Mathis, 31, were arrested and charged with engaging in organize crime. They were booked into the McLennan County jail.
Authorities recovered numerous items belonging to the homeowner from the alleged robbers vehicle.
