JASPER COUNTY (KBMT) -- Investigators searching an area in Jasper County where a skull was found Tuesday night say they found a jacket and shoe early Friday afternoon. Sheriff's deputies say the jacket and shoe are both male clothing.

Early test results on the skull show it is from a male between 17 to 30-years-old, so it is believed that the clothing belonged to the same individual.

Additional bones have been found in the area, but investigators have not yet determined if the new bones are from a human. Detectives have also drained a nearby pond as part of the investigation.

The skull was found by a man walking north of Jasper in a wooded area off Highway 96. Evidence found early in the investigation has been sent to an anthropologist in Huntsville.

Investigators have not yet determined the person's identity or if the death was the result of foul play.
