The McLennan County Sheriff’s office has arrested a man in Waco who has been wanted for shooting at local police officers in South Carolina.

Rudolph Darby, 44, was wanted in McLennan County for evading an arrest back in 2010.

When officers tracked Darby down to a house at 1649 N.15A St. in Waco, they obtained a warrant.

Officers soon arrested Darby and brought him in for fingerprinting.

That's when they realized he was a wanted man out of South Carolina for firing on police officers in August of 1999.

He had been on the run for 14 years and was using 'Joe Stewart' as an alias here in Central Texas.

Darby will likely be sent back to South Carolina in the coming days for his initial 1999 charges of Assault With Intent To Kill, Unlawful Possession of a Pistol, Burglary, Grand Larceny and Pointing and Presenting a Firearm.
