WACO — The Waco Humane Society says they are in much need of more dog food at their shelter.

Officials say with the drop in temperature, animals are able to burn more calories.

A new policy where animals are rarely being euthanized is also playing a factor in the need for dog food.

The Humane Society is also in need of blankets as the weather gets colder.

Officials say without donations, money will pulled from other funds to cover the costs.
