WACO - Former retirement center employee Isidro Olvera, who stole and forged checks from residents, is asking a McLennan County jury for probation.

The checks totaled more than $2,000.

Olvera, who was placed on misdemeanor probation after a conviction for assault/family violence in 2000, faces from six months to two years in a state jail if jurors decline his request for probation.
