WACO - Mclennan County will post a record number of foreclosures for the year at 1,387 properties.
This breaks last year's foreclosure record of 1,110 postings.
However, RealtyTrac Inc. reported that the number of homeowners nationally on the brink of losing their homes dipped in October, the third straight monthly decline, as foreclosure prevention programs helped more borrowers.
But foreclosure filings are still up 19 percent from a year ago, according to RealtyTrac.
Officials say postings for December are 24% below November this year.
