Textbook turmoil in Austin
AUSTIN - The standards regarding school social studies textbooks are being discussed in Austin.
Before meetings began, a group of University of Texas students marched to the school board meeting. They were protesting what they called an effort to insert conservative beliefs into the social studies and history textbooks.
On the other side, some believe there's an effort to water-down history with too much liberal political correctness.
A decision will not be voted on until later in May.
