Job Description for Engineering Assistant -Television-Production

Job Responsibilities:
•Works under the direction of Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer.
•Assist the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer in maintaining uninterrupted broadcast and production of station programming.
•Responsible for assisting in the planning, install, operating, troubleshooting and maintenance of all equipment necessary for the production and broadcast of station programming.
•Responsible for assisting with all stations computer systems, setup, maintenance, repair and install of hardware and software.
•Create and build sets as needed. Assist with the preparation of studio for production and news shoots.
•Assist in production and organization of live events, on and off site.
•Various job duties include, but not limited to, report equipment and building maintenance problems, ensure that repairs are made and make emergency repairs to equipment and building when necessary and possible.
•Perform such duties at station sites as well as transmitter and tower sites.
•Assist in the organization and coordination with outside contracted projects.
•Perform other responsibilities as directed by supervisor.
•Be on call and respond to situations outside of normal business hours to include nights and weekends.

Job Requirements:
•Must be an excellent communicator, verbal and written.
•Knowledgeable in FCC rules and regulations.
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload and work well under limited supervision.
•Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
•Being a team player is important to be successful in this position. Hand tool knowledge necessary.
•Computer literate.
•Lift and/or carry 75lbs, climb ladders, work in small spaces.
•Willingness to learn and advance.
