The city of Mart is now under a stage 4 water restriction.
The strict restrictions are in place because the public works supervisor Scott Fornash said it would take 15-inches of rain to get levels anywhere near back to normal and the city couldn't hold off the restrictions any longer.
"We've been trying to hold off on restrictions as long as possible, and with the drought conditions and the amount of water line breaks that we've been having, I just couldn't hold off any longer," Fornash said.
Which means that no one living in Mart can water outside their home at all. And without significant rain fall, this could remain in effect until spring of next year.
Also, failure to comply with the restrictions could cost you up to a $500 fine.
