Killeen , tx — Killeen police are asking for a hit-and-run victim and witnesses to contact them to help in solving a stolen vehicle and robbery case.
On Wednesday, February 13, just after 5:00 p.m., officers were notified of a vehicle that had just been stolen from a parking lot in the 400 block of Gilmer Street. The owner advised them that a black male, wearing black clothing, entered his silver 2009 Chevy pickup, while his back was turned and sped away. Shortly after the theft occurred, a report came in that a hit-and-run had occurred in the area of 10th Street and Avenue D. The vehicle that hit and ran reportedly matched the description of the stolen vehicle. On the scene, the officers were told an older white male and female, driving a white Chevy Monte Carlo, were witnesses to this hit-and-run.
Shortly after that incident, another hit-and-run at 10th Street and Veteran’s Memorial Boulevard, involving a yellow pickup and the same suspected vehicle. The vehicle then fled the area. Officers were told the victim in the yellow pickup pulled over to the corner. However, when the officers went to that location, they were unable to locate the victim or the witnesses to both hit-and-run accidents. It is believed that this suspect went on to commit other offenses after these incidents.
He was involved in a pursuit and subsequently arrested.
Detective Kevin Tramp is asking that the victim in the yellow pickup and the witnesses driving the white Chevy Monte Carlo to contact his office at 254-501-8830. He is the detective working these cases and needs to speak them.
