Waco, Texas (KWKT) — Through cooperative efforts between Waco Fire and Waco Police, Cedro Riggins IV, 23, of Waco, has been arrested and charged with arson for his involvement in the fire at Cameron Heights Apartments.
At approximately 2:20 a.m., July 14, 2013, Waco Fire department responded to a structure fire located at the intersection of N 5th street and Bosque Blvd. During the fire, Cedro Riggins IV was observed in the area and arrested by Waco Police on unrelated warrants. Joint investigative actions by Waco Fire and Waco Police led to charges being filed against Cedro Riggins IV, for the offense of Arson of a Building occurring on the night of the 14th.
Today, Waco Fire Marshal’s obtained a warrant (# 13-14332-1) for Riggins arrest. He was served with the warrant while incarcerated at the McLennan Co. Jail today.
Waco Police are hesitant to link Riggins to the recent string of fires that look to be arson in the North Waco area.
“At this point we know he is accounted for one of the arsons. Certainly, the fire marshals will look into the possibility that he may be involved in the others. Hopefully, they will develop some information and clear some things up at a later time," said Sgt. Patrick Swanton of Waco PD.
Riggins is currently in the McLennan County Jail.
