2nd arrested in Temple murder case, ID of victim released

The identity of Friday’s murder victim has been released, and Temple Police have arrested another in connection to the crime.

The victim was Michael Carl Davis, 43.

His body was found lifeless Friday morning in an east Temple home.

Willie Frank Roberson Jr., 43, has been arrested and charged with murder.

The woman at the scene has also been arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence with Intent to Impair (Corpse).

Police say Barbie Lee Frazier, 54, assisted Roberson in the altering of the crime scene and helped fabricate a story they later gave to police.

The man that was held in custody after Temple Police found a dead body in a home Friday morning has been charged with murder and is currently in the Bell County Jail facing a $5000,000 bond.

Friday morning, around 8:40 a.m., Temple police responded to a disturbance at a residence in the 500 block of East Avenue C.

Upon arrival, Officers found an approximately 30 year old adult male in a back bedroom of the residence. The victim had suffered apparent severe trauma to the head, and was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace G.W. Ivey. An autopsy was ordered performed at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences.

At this time, the preliminary investigation shows that the victim and two other persons were at the residence at the time of the incident. The two subjects were interviewed by Detectives with the Temple Police Department General Investigations Unit.

Willie Frank Roberson Jr., a 43 year old Temple man, was subsequently taken into custody for the offense and has since been charged with murder.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

This is the second homicide of 2013 reported to the Temple Police Department.

A mugshot of Roberson was not available to media as of Monday afternoon.
