KILLEEN, TX (KWKT) — Five men have been arrested by local law enforcement and the U.S. Marshal's service in connection with a fatal shooting that took pace last summer.
On March 7, the two agencies worked together to arrest Fred Lee Williams, 32, in Waco, Larry Donnel Boswell, 30, in Temple, Kevin Lee Stafford, 31, in Lubbock and Daniel Lee Carruth, 26, in Killeen. On March 12, authorities took into custody a fifth person, 25-year-old Stephon Mitchell Lewis, in Benton Harbour, Michigan.
All five men are charged with engaging in organized criminal activity in relation to a murder that took place July 17, 2012, on the 1400 block of E. Avenue G in Killeen. Police later found Ricky Dewayne Brandon, 29, of Waco, shot dead near the front porch.
Stafford is currently in the McLennan County Jail. Boswell, Williams and Carruth are in the Bell County Jail and Lewis is in the Berrien County Jail in Michigan. Each of the suspects bail is set at $500,000.
Through the investigation, this incident was determined to be gang related and the five men were identified and related to this case.
