COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — Martin Luther King Jr. day might not be until Monday but the celebrations of Dr. King's life are already underway in College Station.
Aggieland welcomed famous actor, Danny Glover, to campus earlier today for the sixth annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Junior breakfast.
Glover is a well known civil rights and humanitarian activist.
He spoke to the crowd for nearly two hours about how Dr. King's life and legacy is still just as relevant today as it was more than 50 years ago.
"Certainly through my life, I've had an opportunity to kind of view him, look at him, watch his own development and own evolution and underline the word evolution in Dr. King," Glover said.
If you missed out on today's event, College Station will be holding its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration this Saturday at the Lincoln Center at 5:45.
And on Monday you can walk in the 17th annual Freedom March to honor Dr. King's life.
