COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — Footing some of the bill for the Kyle Field renovations isn't something Aggie students are willing to do.
In a campus-wide vote Friday, 65 percent of students opposed a referendum which would increase student sport pass prices and fees to help pay for construction.
A&M officials wanted students to contribute $75 million to help pay for the renovations on the student side of the stadium.
Both the cities of Bryan and College Station have already agreed to pay for around $36 million of the project by raising hotel occupancy tax funds in Brazos County.
