COLLEGE STATION -- If you were out in College Station today you may have noticed a little more maroon than normal. That's because today is College Colors Day and A&M along with 171 schools across the nation participated.

The online competition for College Colors Day began at the start of the month and A&M almost won but came in second place, behind Penn State, which had more than 44,000 votes.

The University of Missouri, West Virginia and Alabama also finished in the top five.

This is A&M's third year to participate.
