The autopsy results have been released for a woman found dead and wrapped in a blanket in Bruceville-Eddy.

Carol Jean Wagner, 60, of Bruceville-Eddy was found badly decomposed by her son on July 30 at her home on 108 Pinto.
Police have received the autopsy results, which show ‘smothering’ caused Wagner’s death. Wagner's boyfriend, Jerry William Borchardt, 61, was later found driving her car.

Police took Borchardt in for questioning after Wagner's death and later released him. However, further investigation later led to his arrest on August 4.

Borchardt is being held in the McLennan County Jail on a one million dollar bond. However, he will not be released due to an alleged violation of his parole.

Local law enforcement and the Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
