Baylor going out in 1950 style for last game at Floyd Casey

Uniforms for sale after game

The Baylor Bears will play their last football game at Floyd Casey Stadium Saturday and they are going out in vintage style.

The team will be playing in uniforms resembling those of the 1950 team- the first year of football at Floyd Casey.

The helmet is gold with a green stripe down the middle. The top is all dark green.

There is a commemorative Floyd Casey patch on the front.

One difference between these and the uniforms from 1950 is the facemask, which weren’t used until 1953.

"That is one thing we had to add because you kinda have to have a facemask to play these days," jokes Jeff Barlow of Baylor Athletics. We found the first color they wore sometime around in the 1950’s and it was grey. So, grey it is.”

You can buy a uniform too.

Baylor is selling the complete get up- helmet, jersey and pants- for $750.

As of Friday afternoon, the department still had 35 available.
