Beatles' promoter, agent Sid Bernstein dies at 95

Sid Bernstein, the promoter and agent who first brought the Beatles to America, has died, his publicist said in a statement.

Bernstein booked Carnegie Hall after the Beatles made television gold on The Ed Sullivan Show.

Bernstein also secured the "Fab Four" a gig at Shea Stadium.

In addition to the Beatles, Bernstein organized and promoted concerts for Lenny Kravitz, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix and Sly & the Family Stone. He was also the pioneered staging a rock show at the famous New York City venue, Madison Square Garden.

Bernstein was 95.
