bellmead, tx — Bellmead Police Department has arrested a man they say attempted to solicit sex from an undercover officer they say he believed was a minor.
Dyllon Preston Wood, 20, of Bellmead was arrested in the 1200 block of Hogan Lane on Thursday.
Bellmead investigators received information that Woods has solicited sex from minors in the past. That lead Bellmead investigators began to look into the matter.
Wood reached out to an undercover investigator posing as an underage female decoy, believed to be 13, through social media, soliciting sex from her. Woods was advised the decoys age was 13, and Wood continued to converse with the decoy. During conversations through the social media Wood began soliciting for sex from the decoy after knowing the age. Wood arranged a meeting with the decoy. While en-route to the “Wood” pre-arranged location, he was taken into custody without incident.
Wood was out on bond from charges of Fail to ID and Sexual Assault of Child from the McLennan County Sheriff’s Department. Wood is now in the McLennan County Jail for the charge of Online Solicitation of a minor which is a second degree felony.
