Belton, TX — The warrant roundup season is upon us here in Texas.
The city of Belton is kicking theirs off in just a few days.
Starting on September 1, Belton police officers will be knocking on doors in an effort to get people to pay up on municipal court fees.
The department says they would rather not arrest people for such small violations, but if warnings go unheeded, they will not hesitate to arrest those wanted by the city- which could make for an embarrassing scene at work or home.
If you are unsure of your standing with the city, there is an easy way to find out.
“All the citizens of Belton can go to the city of Belton website. They can go on that website to locate and see if they have a warrant, or if one of their friends and family has a warrant. They can come down to our court and take care of it so that nobody has to come and visit them.”
The website is here.
Once again, the warrant roundup starts September 1and lasts the entire month.
After that, police say an arrest is fair game.
