One of the most important and heralded journalists in America stopped by Central Texas Tuesday when Bob Woodward spoke to both MCC and Baylor students on the campus of McLennan Community College.

The investigative journalist who, alongside Carl Bernstein, broke the Watergate scandal spoke to students about the pillars of journalism.

Woodward talked to the students about how to find information, where to find it and how to present it.

He also spoke for a bit about the current state of American politics and the recent government shutdown.

It’s been more than a decade since he last visited the area.

“The last time I was here was 11 years ago when I came to Crawford to interview then-President Bush about 9/11," said Woodward.

Woodward, who visits college campuses regularly, will lecture the first-ever journalism class at Yale this upcoming year.

Woodward graduated from Yale in 1965.
