The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is considering the old Bryan Army Reserve building as location to house unaccompanied immigrant children that are caught crossing the border.

The city has been looking to take possession of the 29,000-square-foot building since the Army Reserve moved to its new facility.

According to city officials, Health and Human Services officials have visited the property and will make a decision in the coming week.
