Bryan police catch alleged car thief

On Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 8:50 pm, Bryan Police were searching for a known car thief at 1824 Wilde Oak Circle. Police spotted the suspect who was wanted on a warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle. He was contacted by Police, gave a false name to the officer, and then fled on foot. Bryan Police immediately apprehended Jason Benjamin France, a 35-year-old male from Bryan. He was placed under arrest for Evading Arrest/Detention with a previous conviction and for an Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle warrant out of the City of Bryan.

Mr. France is a suspect in other burglaries and thefts in the city. Investigators are working to determine what other cases he has been involved in and if more charges may be appropriate in the future.
