Bryan, Texas (KWKT) — Electric accidents account for about 1,000 deaths per year. Bryan Texas Utilities Powertown program is educating children and adults about power line safety.
BTU recently got its new high voltage demonstration model that shows everyday situations on the tabletop street scene and how you can encounter electrical hazards in real life situations.
BTU Energy account manager, Adam Snidow, said, “It is something that we use every day in our lives, and I think sometimes we want to make sure people aren’t taking it for granted. We want to make sure that people are aware.”
The presentation has something to be learned for everyone.
The pops sizzles and smoke make the experience and the information fun as they cover everything from why squirrels don’t get shocked when they run on the power lines to who discovered electricity.
