Carter BloodCare announces grand opening for new Central Texas Headquarters

Woodway, TX-Carter BloodCare will celebrate a milestone in its history. Its “official grand opening” at the newly built Central Texas Headquarters, located at 206 Archway Drive in Woodway, is slated for 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24. The inauguration will be attended by business and civic leaders, volunteer blood donors, local hospital partners, and dignitaries from the 50-plus Texas counties Carter BloodCare serves.

Formal remarks begin at 10:30 a.m. and members of the media are invited to participate. Following remarks, guests are encouraged to tour the facility and learn more about the blood center’s daily operations. The donor center will also be open and accepting blood donors that day. Potential blood donors can volunteer beginning at age 16 with a parent’s consent, and 17-year-olds can give independently. There is no upper age limit for giving. All donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good general health and present a photo ID each time they give. It’s also a good idea to eat a nutritious meal and drink plenty of water before giving blood.
