A combined effort by the McLennan County Criminal District Attorney’s Office and the McGregor Police Department led to the seizure and forfeiture of over $37,000 in cash related to a drug and money laundering investigation.

Pursuant to an interlocal agreement, the DA's office and police agencies divide proceeds from civil forfeiture cases litigated by the DA’s office. Since January 2013, the DA's office has seized and forfeited over $319,000 in cash, vehicles, and other items from convicted felons.

Since 2011, when District Attorney Abel Reyna took office, over $764,000 in cash and assets have been collected by the DA’s office. That money has been used to help law enforcement agencies throughout McLennan County combat crime in Central Texas communities.
