Child severely injured after getting hit by vehicle in Bryan

A Sam Rayburn student was severely injured after a vehicle hit him in Bryan Thursday afternoon.

At around 4:15 p.m., a 14-year-old tried to cross the northbound lanes of North Earl Rudder near Boonville Bridge, but he was struck by a vehicle. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

Due to the pedestrian accident, a crash occurred in the vicinity. A vehicle rear ended a truck, sending three more children to the hospital with minor injuries, according to the Bryan Police Department.

All passengers in the truck were not harmed.
