Killeen, TX (KWKT) — The Killeen Police Department will be hosting its 35th Citizen’s Police Academy with classes beginning on August 19th, 2013 and continuing through November 4th, 2013.
Classes will be held on Monday evenings from 7:00 p.m., until 10:00 p.m., with one additional class on Saturday, October 12th. There will be a total of 12 weeks of instruction, including presentations of the functions and operations of the department’s various investigative and administrative divisions.
It is an educational and informative program that allows citizens the opportunity to learn about the issues that affect law enforcement efforts in the City of Killeen. Applications will be available at the Killeen Police Department’s North Precinct located at 402 North 2nd Street and headquarters located at 3304 Community Blvd. beginning Monday, June 17, 2013; the deadline for applications will be Friday, August 9th, 2013, at 5:00 p.m.
Applicants must agree to submit to a background check which includes a criminal history inquiry. There is no cost to anyone who enrolls.
