City of Temple announces new fire chief
Temple, Texas (KWKT) — The city of Temple announced on Saturday that they have filled their vacant fire chief position.
Chief Mitch Randles has accepted an offer with the department and is expected to start in August.
Randles has more than 30 years of experience in public safety and has served as the fire chief for Joplin Missouri since October of 2010.
During his time as chief, he oversaw Joplin's 6 fire stations and led the search and rescue effort after an EF5 tornado struck Joplin in May of 2011.
Randles will replace Temple's former Chief Lonzo Wallace, retired from the department back in October.
