WACO -- Gas prices may be going down but the number of people going hungry is up.
So this weekend you have a chance to clean out that pantry and give back.
More than 43,000 people in McLennan County are food insecure and more than half of those are children.
So our food banks need your help during the 20th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
On Saturday letter carriers will drop off people's mail and pick up canned goods left outside in donation bags that have been distributed all week.
"School's about to be out and we will have more children at home who will need to be fed at home rather than in the schools. Also donations tend to drop off to the food pantries this time of year. So it's a very important time for food drives and so we're looking forward to the results of this one," said Buddy Edwards, executive director of Caritas Waco.
Edwards said you can't beat the convenience because it's basically home delivery.
This is the largest food drive in the country.
