Corpus Christi (KWKT) — Two men that were reported missing Sunday night were found Tuesday.
It happened at 4:30 a.m. when the wife of one of the men called to report her husband had contacted her by phone.
The men were found safe just south of the Port Aransas jetties.
The U.S. Coast Guard was searching for two men aboard an overdue sailboat off the Texas coast.
Crews began searching Monday morning for the men on a 25 foot sailboat with a creme colored hull and white sails. The boat was sailing for Port Aransas to Galveston.
The missing men are Patrick Holden, 27, and Joe Squibb, 26.
The call came in at 2:00 a.m. when Holden's wife called the Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi and told them she had not heard from her husband after their expected arrival time in Galveston on Sunday night.
It was reported that Holden and Squibb left on Saturday evening for an overnight trip but he and his friend didn't return as expected.
The Coast Guard is currently conducting a search of 50 miles offshore from Port Aransas to Galveston using helicopters and airplanes.
Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of these men are asked to contact the Coast Guard command center at 504-589-6225.
