COLLEGE STATION, Tx (KYLE) — College Station police are trying to figure out why a man was struck and killed by an on-coming train early Monday morning.

Police say they responded to the intersection of FM 2154 and William D. Fitch Parkway just before 1:00 a.m. this morning.

We're told 18-year-old Jacob Fahlman was attempting to cross the train tracks when he was hit and killed by a southbound Union Pacific train.

Police say it's unclear why Fahlman was near the tracks to begin with.
