It happened here in the 2400 block of Welsh Avenue just after 10:00 Friday night.

Police say a 14-year-old boy was riding his bike home when he was stopped by a man who forced the boy into his car at gunpoint and then sexually assaulted him.

"The victim was just in the wrong time, wrong place because he was just trying to get home at the time," said College Station Assistant Police Chief, Brandy Norris.

With little information to go off of, other than a basic suspect and vehicle description, College Station Police didn't have any leads.

That is until Monday morning when they got a call from someone who said they had a hunch the suspect was registered sex offender, 54-year-old Isaiah Young.

"The reporting person knew Mr. Young personally, knew his history and when it hit the news as to what had occurred it just kind of clicked in this person's mind that that's just like what Mr. Young had done in the past," Asst. Chief Norris tells us.

So with a possible suspect named, officers then created a photo lineup to show the victim.

Asst. Chief Norris says there wasn't any hesitation picking out Young as the suspect, "The victim 110% definitively picked him out almost immediately as the suspect in this case."

A warrant was obtained and Young was taken into custody Monday night and while the child predator is off the streets, police worry there may be other victims still out there.

"Yes it is absolutely [a concern] because of the nature of the crime, 14-15-16-year-old boys may be embarrassed to report it considering what happened but if there are additional victims out there we would like to know to make sure that he is charged appropriately," Asst. Chief Norris said.

Young is a three-time convicted aggravated sexual assault offender and was sentenced to 50 years behind bars in 1987 but was paroled after just 17 years served in 2004.

Police tell us his last registered sex offender check up was last month in October.

He's in the Brazos County jail on $2 million bail.
