A College Station man who accidentally shot his friend on New Year's day more than a year ago has been sentenced.

23-year-old Kenneth Wayne Connor was given a ten-year probated sentence after pleading guilty to criminal negligent homicide for the 2012 death of Whitney Paskey-Pullen.

Pullen was shot in the head by Connor at a home in the 3000 block of Cain Road when Connor pulled out a 9mm handgun and began waiving it in the air.

The gun discharged and struck Pullen in the head.

Police found evidence at the home to prove the shooting was accidental.
