The Czech Republic plans to donate four million koruna, which is about 200,000 American dollars, to help the town of West to recover.

The government decided to provide aid because a significant amount of the 2,700 people living in the town have Czech roots. The Czech Ambassador to the U.S., Petr Gandalovic, reportedly visited West last week and talked to Texas Governor Rick Perry and Mayor Tommy Muska, along with others, about ways to help.
