McLennan County — Early voting for this year's election begins today, and already election officials in McLennan County are seeing a high turnout.
Officials say 2,655 voters have already mailed their ballots in. More than 1,140 voters showed up to various polling stations across McLennan County before noon today.
Officials expect about 60 percent of the county's population to vote, with 50 percent of them voting early.
"We've had a steady stream. We've had lots of people vote by mail already. And all of our sites are very busy. We haven't quite seen any lines yet, but we've tried to accommodate all the voters. We have two lines here. We have three lines down at First Assembly," said McLennan County Collections Administrator, Kathy Van Wolfe.
Polling stations will be open through Friday of next week.
In order to vote, you must be registered and present a valid ID.
