Gatesville, TX — Residents in and around Gatesville are currently under a water conservation order.
A power failure at the water-intake pump at Lake Belton caused the Gatesville Regional Water Plant to go down as well.
As a result, the city is asking anybody with water to conserve as much as possible.
The problem is much of the population currently has little or no running water.
The school district and local municipalities are turning to reserve tanks in the meantime.
All of this happened because of a faulty cable.
Gatesville Assistant City Manager Luis Lobo said they city has rented a generator from a company in Houston that is on its way to help get two of the three plant's pumps up and running.
