The wife of a former Central Texas pastor found herself behind bars overnight Wednesday on perjury charges.

Megan Lynn Allen, 28, was arrested Wednesday night on a felony indictment of aggravated perjury. The charge was handed down by a Coryell County Grand Jury on June 25.

According to Coryell County District Attorney Dustin Boyd, jurors believed Allen gave a “misrepresentation of information about her relationship with Mr. Allen prior to November 2010.” This testimony that she’s indicted on comes from testimony given to a grand jury on April 30.

Allen bonded out on $50,000 bond Thursday morning.

Allen is married to David Keith Allen, 51, who remains in jail on a capital murder charge for the March 2011 death of his previous wife. Back in March of 2011, a tragic fire in Coryell County consumed David Allen’s trailer home with his wife, Paula Allen, still inside. Paula Allen was 54-years-old. After investigation, officers pinned the fire to Allen being responsible for starting it.
