Four arrested for drugs in McGregor

MCGREGOR-- McGregor Police make four arrests for meth while serving search warrants to two homes this morning.

The searches were performed simultaneously, one on Taylor Street and the other on 6th Street in McGregor.

The search on Taylor ended in the arrest of Billy Byford, 59 and David Rivas, 32, for meth.

On 6th street Renita Driver, 46, was arrested for possession of a dangerous drug and her 20-year old son Shanin Driver was arrested for possession of meth.

"This is a part of an ongoing investigation that has been occurring. Over the last 5 weeks we have served 5 drug search warrants and we have actually made 13 arrests," Lieutenant M.R. "Bubba" Colyer with the McGregor Police Department said.

The 13 arrests have resulted in ten felony and eight misdemeanor charges for drugs ranging from marijuana to methamphetamines.

Lieutenant Colyer tells us there is a "distinct possibility that further arrests will come."
