Georgetown police officer caught tripping and pushing students given 40-day suspension

The Georgetown police officer caught tripping and pushing students at a state championship soccer game has been suspended. Officer George Bermudez was handed a 40-day suspension without pay for the forced used in the soccer incident. In April, as fans rushed onto the field to celebrate the Vandergrift's girls soccer win, Bermudez was videotaped tripping an pushing the students. Officer Bermudez has five days to accept the punishment or face an indefinite suspension.

 

Bermudez has 10 days to appeal the suspension with the Georgetown Civil Service Commission.
