Gov. Perry hosts CT gun manufacturers luncheon
CNN — Texas Governor Rick Perry visited Connecticut monday to woo gun manufacturers and other businesses to relocate to the "Lone Star State."
But, he wasn't the only governor making a pitch.
Governor Dannel Malloy showed up to Perry's luncheon explaining he just wanted to extend some yankee hospitality.
Approximately 40 people, most from the gun industry, were invited to the luncheon, including a gun grip manufacturer, which employs about a dozen.
Governor Malloy said last week Perry's nationwide recruiting tour is simply Perry trying to gain the Republican nomination for the 2016 presidential race.
"Are your tax policies really in the best interest of your job creators? Is your regulatory climate one of which really allows your citizens to be able to enjoy the freedoms that they can have or they should have," said Perry. "You wanna be in an area where your business is looked at as a positive thing. You have to have some support from the state. There's no support here in Connecticut and and that makes it very discouraging to conduct business here."
