Green Fund Advisory Board Announces Spring 2012 Grant Winners

College Station, TX - The Aggie Green Fund Advisory Board (AGF) awarded $334,710 in grants to seven projects designed to provide environmental improvements at Texas A&M University. Those projects are:
• The installation of water bottle filling stations on campus;
• An outdoor recycling program for Ross Street;
• An indoor recycling program for the Engineering Quad;
• The enhancement of green space for students at Zachary Building;
• The installation of new bike racks located at;
• A solar greenhouse and education facility project for the TAMU Howdy Farm;
• A recycling sticker project for dorm rooms in campus housing.
The 2011-2012 AGF received 20 grant proposal abstracts from students, faculty, and staff members. Of those, 17 were invited to submit applications. Finally, the AGF selected seven projects that most closely matched the selection criteria of environmental impact, student involvement, campus impact, cost effectiveness, outreach/publicity planning, capability of project team, academic gains, evaluation/follow-up, a well-written application and budget.
