Harker Heights, TX — A Central Texas mayor has resigned, "citing unfortunate financial circumstances beyond his control" as his reason for leaving.
Harker Heights Mayor Mike Aycock's resignation was effective on February 1. According to reports, Aycock has had trouble with his property tax obligations with his construction company.
Mayor Pro Tem Rob Robinson is taking over Aycock's duties until the May 10 election day. Aycock has already filed for re-election.
