Fort Hood, TX — Nidal Hasan was found guilty of murder on Friday and now it seems as if his fate will be determined within the next 24 hours.
Because the guilty verdict was unanimous, Hasan is now eligible for the death penalty.
Many people think Hasan wants to be given the death penalty to become a martyr for fellow radical Islamists.
The other option would be to give Hasan a life sentence behind bars.
But concerns over security costs and healthcare for Hasan, who is paralyzed, may influence the decision of the military jury.
Jurors are still listening to victim testimony, and deliberating what to do with Hasan, but the court expects a decision soon.
On Friday, Hasan was proven guilty for 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 accounts of pre-meditated murder.
