Hewitt officers discovered the driver of the Altima, Jason Paul Scott, 30, was driving while intoxicated. After treating him for injuries, Scott was arrested. Scott's passenger, a 25-year-old man reportedly got out of the vehicle and began walking home.
Shortly thereafter, were dispatched to a second crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, which occurred at Hewitt Drive and West Warren Road.
Upon the officers arrival to the vehicle/pedestrian crash, they found the same 25-year-old man who had been a passenger in the prior crash was a victim of the auto/pedestrian crash. The man was crossing Hewitt Drive when he was struck by a black 2005 Pontiac Vibe traveling southbound on Hewitt Drive. The pedestrian received serious injuries and was taken to Hillcrest Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Pontiac Vibe was not injured. No charges have been filed against the driver of the Pontiac.
At approximately 7:41 a.m., while Hewitt officers were investigating the first two crashes, a third vehicle crash occurred at Hewitt Drive and Warren Road. This crash involved two vehicles traveling northbound on Hewitt Drive. Hewitt officers investigated the third crash and determined a 2008 Ford Edge was struck from behind by a 2004 Toyota SUV as they were stopping at the red light. Neither driver was injured.
