Waco (KWKT) — The Honor Flight Austin is looking to take WWII veterans on an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.. The program is looking to honor 50 of the most senior veterans and needs help from the Waco/ McLennan area to raise the $50,000.00 needed to cover the cost.
The Honor Flight Austin is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run charity organization that is dedicated to honoring WWII veterans by taking them on an experience of a lifetime. This trip is a way to say thank you for all who have served.
During the visit the veterans will tour the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C. and other military monuments. Last week the Austin program finished its 15th Honor Flight and third of the year.
Any WWII veterans in the Central Texas area are asked to apply through the Texas Honor Flight Connection at www.texashonorflight.com
