"Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day" takes place tomorrow, Saturday, May 3, for Waco, Hewitt, Lorena, Lacy Lakeview, and Woodway residents.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., you can stop by the Waco Solid Waste Operations Center on Schroeder Drive to drop off your items. All you need is a current water bill and driver's license. Officials say having this day annually is important to keep harmful chemicals out of landfills.

You can drop off up to four tires, free of charge. They must be 33 inches or smaller and removed from the rim. Cleaners, oil, paints, and more are accepted. To find out more, contact Waco's Solid Waste Services office.
