It's not uncommon to be-friend someone on the internet, especially now-a-days with social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

But do you really know who you're talking to?

"While you may interact with a lot of people online, not all of them are your friends as they may be called online," said Lt. Chuck Fleeger with the College Station Police Department. "They have to understand that there are those who will use these mediums to gain the trust and then victimize these individuals."

Lt. Fleeger says that happened to one 14-year-old girl.

Police say last Friday 28-year-old Zachary Hocko drove from Houston to College Station to meet the girl.

She willingly went with him to a local hotel but had a change of heart later and wanted to be taken home.

"The subject refused to take her home," said Lt. Fleeger. "Rather than taking her back to her residence, he instead drove her to his residence in Houston."

Once at his place, Hocko allegedly took videos and pictures of him sexually assaulting the teen.

The next day while in the car with Hocko the victim managed to get away and call her parents for help.

She was treated at a Houston hospital and is now receiving counseling.

"We have to be honest with them and have those conversations about the potential pitfalls that there are so we can minimize the chance of victimization," said Lt. Fleeger.

With the help of Houston PD Hocko was arrested Thursday and charged with aggravated kidnapping, sexual assault of a child and improper photography and visual recording.

He's being held without bond at the Harris County Jail but authorities say he'll be transferred back to Brazos County soon.
