Investigation into Kyle Field construction worker's death continues

Wednesday, December 4, 2013 - 5:24pm

The investigation continues into how a contracted construction worker fell four stories to his death at Kyle Field Tuesday.

University officials tell us multiple agencies are investigating including: University Police, Manhattan Vaughn (the construction company managing the redevelopment) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

OSHAs investigation could take anywhere from a week to six months to complete and it's unclear how that will affect the renovations.

We're told they'll look at equipment to see if there was any malfunction or if any standards were violated.

Currently Kyle Field is undergoing a $450 million redevelopment project that started in August but ramped up after the last home game.

We're told 25-year-old Angel Garcia fell from the fourth level on the north side of Kyle Field.

It's unclear if the accident was caught on camera by Kyle Field's live video stream of the renovations.
